Who we are
bellos is a workout planning and logging app run by Jason Fricano, doing business as Orca Solutions. You can reach us at info@bellos.app. In this policy, "we" means Orca Solutions and "bellos" means the app, the website at bellos.app and the app at app.bellos.app.
What we collect
If you join the waitlist
Your email address. Nothing else. To keep out spam, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a real person is signing up, which looks at your browser and IP address, and we limit how many signups can come from one IP address.
If you create an account
- Sign-in details: your email address. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we also receive the name and email address on that account. Apple may give us a private relay address instead. We never see your Google or Apple password.
- Your training setup: your units, bodyweight, where you train and the equipment there, and the days you train.
- Your workouts: the plan bellos builds for you, the sets, reps and weights you log, how a session felt, notes you write, and the movements you swap and why.
- Your devices: which devices are signed in to your account and when each last synced, so you can see them and sign them out.
- Feedback you send us: your message, the app version and device type, a screenshot if you attach one, and your last workout only if you tick the box to include it.
Technical logs
Our servers record IP addresses, request times and errors. We use them to keep bellos secure, stop abuse and fix problems.
What we don't do
- No advertising, ad networks or tracking pixels.
- No selling or renting your data, and no sharing it for anyone's marketing.
- No access to your location, contacts, or health data from other apps.
The app uses one cookie, which keeps you signed in. The website stores only your light or dark theme choice, in your own browser.
How we use it
- To run bellos: build and adjust your plan, save your logs and keep your devices in sync.
- To sign you in and send the emails the service needs, such as sign-in links, your beta invite and notice of important changes. We don't send newsletters unless you ask for them.
- To read and answer your feedback.
- To keep bellos secure and working, and to fix bugs.
- To understand how bellos is used overall, for example how many people finish a training block. We look at these numbers in total, not person by person.
If we ever publish results such as typical strength gains, we will ask for your permission first, and we will only publish combined numbers that can't identify you.
Where your data is kept
Our servers, database, backups and file storage run on Oracle Cloud in San Jose, California, USA. So that your data survives a serious failure at Oracle, we also keep an encrypted copy of our backups with a separate storage provider outside Oracle. Cloudflare provides our domain and protects our network, so it handles traffic to bellos, including your IP address.
A small number of services help us run bellos and only process data on our instructions:
- Resend sends sign-in links and service emails, so it receives your email address.
- If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, that step happens under their own privacy policies.
We don't share your data with anyone else, unless the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
- Your account: for as long as you have one. When you delete your account, we delete your data from our servers straight away. Copies in our backups are deleted as those backups expire, which happens on a regular schedule.
- Your waitlist email: we delete it when we send your invite, or sooner if you ask us to remove it.
- Technical logs: only as long as we need them to keep bellos secure and fix problems. We delete them on a regular schedule.
- Feedback: only as long as it helps us improve bellos. We delete old feedback on a regular schedule.
Your choices
- See and export your data: download everything as a file from You › Your data.
- Correct it: edit your setup and logs in the app at any time.
- Delete it: delete your account from You › Account. This removes your data from our servers and signs out your devices.
- Leave the waitlist or ask anything about your data: email info@bellos.app. We'll answer within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, for example in the EU, the UK or California, the law may give you further rights over your data. We honour these requests wherever you live.
Health information
Your bodyweight and workout logs say something about your health. We treat them as sensitive and use them only to run bellos for you. bellos is not a medical service.
Security
Everything travels over encrypted connections, access to our systems is limited to the people who run bellos, and we keep backups. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you promptly and explain what we're doing about it.
Age
bellos is for people aged 16 and over. If we learn that someone younger has signed up, we'll delete the account.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new date. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
